I'm think I'm going back to bed ...

Isn't it amazing how quickly the holiday glow fades? And I'm not talking about the tan either!

Yesterday was one of those days.

The floor remains an ...... ongoing problem. Yes, I think that's the best way to put it.

Remember how optimistic I was that I should shortly have a level floor in my house? Weeeeeeeell ..... I should never have allowed myself that glimmer of hope. It turns out there's a long line across the centre of my kitchen/family room which is damp. There's another patch in what we fondly call the music room but which I have every intention of stealing as my office in due course. So no floor for me. Not for the foreseeable future either. At some point I'm sure someone will get back to me with costings for a damp proof membrane and yet another layer of screed - but let's not hold our breath.

This means all the furniture from the ground floor of my house will continue piled up in the Sitting Room. I do have a photo of that for you but who knows where the computer lead is to transfer it.

Picture me sitting on a folding garden chair with my laptop on a tray!

    Oh heck! You poor duffer!

Well they do say you have to go through pains to be beautiful, so maybe sitting on a garden chair with your laptop will make for beautiful prose ;).

    Here's to no more damp.

Big hugs - know exactly where you're coming from re no floor (holes) and damp, and the smell, and just how long it takes to dry out...
